Force.com Sites and Portal Development

Salesforce Force.com Sites lets you create public web applications and web sites that run natively on Force.com - under your own domain. The Force.com Sites technology utilizes Visualforce, the platform framework for building and deploying custom user interfaces.

The Force.com Platform

Force.com Sites was announced in 2008 and Luminosity Group has been developing on the platform ever since. As one of the first web design and development agencies to embrace this technology, Salesforce invited us to show Dreamforce 2010 attendees how to create web sizzle in the Introduction to Force.com Sites session. The same day, Siteforce was announced during the Dreamforce keynote.

Siteforce will be one of the fastest ways to build data-rich websites. Siteforce includes site hosting, content management, a database, and a content delivery network. And it's all in the cloud, which means Salesforce takes care of the infrastructure.

If you're curious whether Sites or Siteforce might be right for your business, contact us. We would be happy to provide you with a free 30-minute consultation.

Salesforce Portals

If you're familiar with Salesforce, you know the Partner and Customer Portals are incredibly powerful. And you also know the out-of-the-box user experience leaves a lot to be desired.

Luminosity Group has transformed Salesforce Portals into visually engaging user experiences for some of the best and brightest companies in North America. Consequently, we've become intimately familiar with the technology. Because we're designers as well as developers, we know how to steer clear of the gotchas and design a user experience that really works.

We not only design the user experience, we develop the user interface - right in your Sandbox. We implement the functioning HTML, CSS and JavaScript code for all pages, page layouts, and navigation. We also develop the required custom Apex and Visualforce elements such as components and page blocks. Check out our portfolio for samples of our Partner and Customer Portal work.

Force.com UX and UI Development and Consulting

Saleforce provides some of the most intuitive WYSIWYG page layout tools in the industry. The drag-and-drop designer makes it a snap to crank out custom page layouts. But without a thoughtful user experience, your implementation can grow into a bit a Frankenstein that stalls user adoption.

At Luminosity Group, we're usability experts. We help you develop use case scenarios and then translate scenarios into step and flow diagrams. This is the end of the road for most folks, but for us, it's just the beginning.

Next, we transform the diagrams into interactive wireframes and conduct user testing. We present the user with an action to accomplish, and then we watch to see where she clicks and record where she fumbles and where she succeeds. We use this insight to iterate and finalize the wireframes.

At this point, we can design the UI, or you can do it yourself. If it's a Sales Cloud or Service Cloud project, then there is not much styling required. You can leverage the drag-and-drop designer to create the page layouts. If the project involves a Portal or a custom Force.com application, then it might make sense for us to handle the UI. We're flexible. Contact us if you're interested in learning more.
